My Sunday Photo – Purple Angel Flowers

This week for #mysundayphoto I’m sharing 3 of my favourite shot’s of these purple angel flowers the Mr has taken this week. I took a similar photo which I shared on my Instagram & people pointed out how it looked like a purple angel! I love these different shot’s of the stunning ‘purple angels’ and how they seem to bleed into the white, some with small splashes of purple around the edges too.

Purple Angel flowers.. aren’t they pretty!?

I want an entire garden full of these when we finally escape the hell that is living in a high rise! They are so pretty & interesting to look at too.

Do you think they look like purple angels or something else?

Ladies Purple Heat Holders Lounge Socks – Warm, Cosy & Purple!

A pair of Ladies Purple Heat Holders Lounge Socks were sent out for me to review. Anyone that follows me on twitter knows I am always cold and complain my feet are freezing a lot so I couldn’t wait to receive them and see if they really did make my life warmer & purple. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Ladies Purple Heat Holders Lounge Socks

Soo warm!

The socks instantly warmed my feet up, with a 2.34 tog rating they really do keep your feet toasty. I actually managed to get through an entire day without complaining about cold feet. An impressive feat! I love the purple pair I was sent & the thick purple heart grippers on the bottoms. The inside’s are so soft and fluffy they feel lovely on your feet too.

I’ve tried out a lot of different fluffy/thermal socks & slippers in an attempt to keep my feet warm but tend to end up wearing several pairs of socks. Keeping my feet warm is something I find quite frustrating as it makes my balance worse too. It’s nice not to have to keep putting on more socks across the day & tripping over cold numb feet!

Warm & Purple!

Impressively the Heat Holders Lounge Socks actually stay on my feet without the need to continuously pull them back up. I tend to have this problem (which REALLY annoys me) with most fluffy/thermal socks. Having had a look through the range on the heat holder’s website I will most definitely be buying more pairs for me & the girls as well as there are some beautiful designs for girls on there too!

Do you struggle to keep your feet warm too? If so I’d definitely recommend having a look at the lovely designs by Heat Holder, there’s something for all the family!

Purpling My World With Dylon Dyes – Part 1: Sack The Lego Supervisor

I’m not really sure if many of you know this but I have a teeny tiny obsession with the colour Purple.. I know, I know, I hide it well! The problem is not EVERYTHINGย  is in purple.. yet! So when I got my hands on some gorgeousย Dylonย Fabric Dyes in Intense Violet in exchange for an honest review I couldn’t wait to get started on purpling my world… I mean at look at them!

I LOVE the Intense Violet and just knew I had to dye the bedding we recently bought that I wasn’t keen on being white..

 Bedding before

Lego Supervisor - failingI was so eager to get going and purple thing’s that even under the watchful eye of the Lego Supervisor and Izzy I managed to make the ULTIMATE mistake. I DIDN’T quite read the instructions properly.. until the washing machine was on of course (I know, I know the Lego Supervisor is totally getting the sack for slacking!). So here’s a head’s up, when using Dylon dyes ALWAYS read the instructions fully to get the perfect result (One box covers a DOUBLE not king-size duvet cover!)

Of course having too much material in the machines & not enough dye doesn’t result in an even covering so instead I had this pretty awesome (but not for this project) tie-dye effect that I had to fix sharpish before my brother ran out to buy a King-size duvet and stole it from me!

Ooops

After admitting my mistake I was sent out another 2 boxes of the Intense Violet machine dye to see if I could put things right again. This time I made sure I had definitely read the instructions before pouring the dyes & 500g of salt into the washing machine drum under the Mr’s supervision this time.. He had to be better than Izzy and the Lego supervisor.. Right?

This time I was happy with the result! My camera seriously doesn’t do it justice it is AMAZING in person and I cant wait to see it on my bed and purple my boring bedroom some more!

Purpling my world
Hanging to dry.. Now doesn’t that look better!?

Dylon fabric dyes are definitely an amazing way to colour your world your way.. Providing you read the instructions ๐Ÿ˜‰

I still have the French Lavender dyes to use next so keep an eye out for part 2! Fingers crossed this time it all goes right the first time as these dyes are absolutely amazing when you read the instructions properly ๐Ÿ˜‰ haha!

In the meantime don’t forget to check out Dylon’sย Instagramย &ย Twitterย page aswell as theirย websiteย to see other colours available!ย

Have you used Dylon dyes? What’s your favourite colour & best success? Let me know in the comments ๐Ÿ˜Š

Also I just noticed that this is my 100th blog post!! And it’s a purple one!! Yay!!ย

Dream Purple Kitchen Bargain!

Last week I shared some lovely Purple bits I’ve spotted for myย dream purple kitchenย & mentioned the Wilko’s Colour Play Purple Microwave which I intended to buy when we got paid for ยฃ50 however when the Mr checked they had dropped the price to ยฃ40!

I love a bargain, it’s cheered me up knowing I not only got my purple microwave but for ยฃ10 less!

We ordered it on-line Friday morning to be delivered in store within the next 48 hours. The Mr had found that although the price had dropped our local store was out of stock. Luckily there were still 10 left on-line so I quickly ordered it to make sure I got one!

Being a bank holiday weekend I didn’t expect a pick & dispatched email until Tuesday morning even though the stores were open on the Monday but by late morning I still hadn’t received an email and after 2 weeks without a microwave already I decided to tweet Wilko and find out when it was due to be picked & dispatched.

After DM’ing my order number Connor answered my questions and informed me my order had been lost in transit. IEither I could wait until they had more in stock week or be refunded.

I panicked as either way I thought I’d be waiting a week as refunds take 5-7 days. I was already getting stressed without a microwave for so long (I never realised how handy they are until I didn’t have one!) so I asked if there were any in stock in my 2 local stores & Connor quickly let me know he had reserved one at the Basildon store for me!

The Mr quickly got in touch with a friend and they went to collect it for me. By 3.30pm I had my brand new shiny purple microwave in front of me!

I felt like a kid at Christmas! It was set up on the worktop with the rest of the Wilko ColourPlay appliances we have!

Purple Kitchen

Obviously I need a new glass chopping board in purple to compete this worktop ๐Ÿ˜‰ but I think it looks quite now now even on a tight budget & ย it definitely looks better than the ugly kitchen we had a few months ago!

I quite like how small the microwave is as it gives us that little bit more worktop space when cooking. Our last microwave was a huge old beast so it really makes a difference!

We tested out the microwave for dinner a few hours later as we had Jacket potatoes. Although I had to show the Mr how to work it. It is pretty simple to set up and use (helps to read the instructions like I had! ๐Ÿ˜‚) and it does what it needs to.

Purple Microwave

I love that it is digital & you can set the time and adjust the settings. There are so many settings! I imagine it will take us a while to use even half of them but for a small budget microwave I am pretty damn impressed!

My Purple Dream Kitchen

Since we had the Kitchen, Toilet & Bathroom refit the Mr has been working to redecorate properly I have been planning my purple dream kitchen and I have finally decided on the Wilko’s Durable Lilac Paint for the Kitchen to keep the walls light & keep with the darker purple appliances & whatever else I can convince the Mr is muchly needed in the kitchen ;).

Purple Dream Kitchen

We already have a perfectly working Kettle & Toaster in purple and since our microwave decided to die on my birthday (followed by the hoover 2 days later!) I’ve been looking around for a nice purple one to match and it seems the Wilko’s colour play range the Toaster & Kettle are from have the best purple one I can find and at just ยฃ50 hopefully we can save up for it very soon!

2 Tier Dish Drainer, Chrome/Purple Enamel Coated Frame, Glass and Utensil Holder/Removable Purple Plastic Drip Tray

I do already have a dish drainer and although I mainly use the dishwasher now I’ve had my eye on this gorgeous purple dish drainer for a while.

Although it is well out of our price range I hope one day I can buy this stunningly purple oven to replace our horrid old white one!

I love these Salter Orb mechanical scales which would be perfect for when we bake!

I love this Morphy Richards Accents 5 Piece Tool Set in plum & think it would look gorgeous with the worktops too!

Our Knife block is well overdue a replacement and again from the Morphy Richards Accents Range I found this Knife block in the Plum.

And of course to complete the set it’s only right we got the kitchen storage set too.. right?

Of course this lovely lot costs a fair bit when you add it all up but hopefully we can save and buy everything on the list bit by bit. Have you spotted any lovely Kitchen accessories in purple recently? What would be your main colour scheme for your dream kitchen?

Purple Relentless for Relentlessly Purple

I am ecstatic right now..My 2 all time favourite things have at last merged into one!! Purple Relentless!

The Mr went shopping yesterday and came across the new Passion Punch Relentless and sent me this picture..

purple relentless

Yes you are seeing correctly…Purpleย  Relentless! IKR amazing!! I wont lie I did get a little over excited seeing this picture and may have done a little happy wiggle haha.

Not only is it purple BUT it tastes amazing! The flavour – Passion Punch, is absolutely divine & most definitely going to be my go to drink for summer with it’s fruity flavour! I cant wait to try it with some Rum or Pimm’s!

image

I tried pouring a little out to see the colour of the drink itself and although it is more a pinky colour I can see it turning a lovely shade of purple when mixed with Pimm’s ๐Ÿ˜‰

It’s a little sad I know but I’ve been hoping for a purple can of Relentless for years now as Relentless has been my favorite drink since my college days and well.. Im obsessed with purple.. If you couldnt tell!

It seem’s a new flavour in an amazing purple isn’t the only change to Relentless, the brown origin can’s are now black. The design has changed a lot too and it’s a lot simpler now.. I love the colour change but I do prefer the detail in the old design but overall I’m more impressed that there is finally a can of Purple Relentless for Relentlessly Purple haha! ๐Ÿ˜‰

How awesome is that!? If you could have your drink of choice in the colour & flavour of your choice what would it be?

Purple crochet/knitting project hunt

I am absolutely over the moon! Some of you may have seen on my Instagram yesterday a friend gave me 2 carrier bags full of wool, knitting looms and needles. It really made my day as I was very low on wool and hadn’t done much crochet or knitting lately!!

I’ve been struggling again since the steroid injections began wearing off and clearing through the flat over the weekend has left me hurting even more so lots of new wool to play with is a much needed distraction. I love how many purples there are and have already begun a little crochet project for Eva with the neon multi-coloured wool but I’m on the hunt for a project I can use the purple’s on for myself!

I know a few of my readers crochet and knit and would love some suggestions if anyone has any?

The Secret Diary of Agent Spitback

Another Crafty Bargain

I shared with you all my Crafty Bargain before but completely forgot to metion another crafty bargain in the same shop in Grays highstreet, PoundCity.

I was really impressed when I spotted these and noticed that they were different sizes to what I already had so definitely had to be bought, I bought my brother a set too as I am trying to teach him to crochet as he already know’s how to knit.

Have you found any crafty bargains recently? Or starting/completing a project? Don’t forget to share them with me & leave a link in comments ๐Ÿ™‚

Sure Maximum Protection Sensitive Dry

Being a Bzzagent means I get sent products to test & review from time to time & last week I received my latest Bzzkit to review.

Sure Maximum Protection Sensitive Dry
My Bzzkit

This time I am testing an anti-perspirant stick. I was sent the Sure maximum protection sensitive dry anti-perspirant stick which just so happens to be…PURPLE! Oh yes!

I am a fan of Sure in general I have to admit. Before testing this stick I was previously using the Sure motion sense cotton dry stick along with the Sure long lasting protection fragrance collection spray with scents of peach & wild raspberry.. My absolute favourite spray! Again the spray is purple.. Extra win for me!

image
My current Sure collection

Since I am already a Sure fan I couldn’t wait to test this new product and see what was inside the lovely little box and was pleasantly surprised by the new shape of the stick itself.

I love the purple of course but I also like the general design too. Then when you open it up it gets even funkier!

The applicator has lots of little holes the anti-perspirant stick comes up through when you turn the wheel at the base which clicks as you do so. Sure recommends 2 clicks per under arm which I gave a go and it glides nicely as you apply it and covered my armpit nicely.

I absolutely love the long lasting fresh scent it leaves when you use it. I’ve been using it for a few day’s now & even wore a knitted jumper & thick winter coat to really put the anti-perspirant to the test. I sweat quite a lot in my coat usually but was surprised when I got home & realised my pits were still dry and I still smelt fresh & lovely even after a panic attack.

Overall I love this new Sure anti-perspirant & my old cotton fresh one has been pushed to the back of the cupboard as a back up as I much prefer the one I am currently testing. I would definitely say this is the best one I have tried yet!

*All comments, views, opinions & photo’s are my own however I did receive this product free to review from Bzzagent.

Seeing in the New Year

seeing in the new year

Happy new year to all my readers, I hope you all had an amazing night seeing in the new yearย and I cant wait to have a nose through some posts to see what you all got up to! I did write a Christmas – New Year post thinking I wouldn’t find the time to squeeze in a proper new year post but I’ve had a bit more free time today so decided to share with you all how we saw in the new year.

Originally we were meant to have a few people over for drinks to celebrate the new year but the Mr decided against it. Surprisingly not even an hour after the decision was made to just spend New years indoors together I got a phone call from my brother in a bad mood & skint but desperate to come see us and see new years in with us. I guess it was one of those strange things where plans fail for a reason.

Its been almost 10 years since I’ve seen the new year in with my brother as he was in care most years or hospital and I was either in a refuge or unable to get to him or help him get to me so the idea of spending new years eve with him at last made me ridiculously happy.

My brother explained his situation and between the Mr and I we had a plan & thanks to c2c running late trains especially for the new years eve celebrations it all fell into place nicely.

My brother hates asking for help, I’m very aware that I am one of the few people he dares to ask for help from but still feels awkward doing so, the Mr and I try to remind him every time we see him that he is family regardless & if he needs something he only has to shout.

I was seriously proud he finally plucked up the courage to call me, we instantly transferred some money into his account so he could jump on the train & when he got here he told us what had put him in a bad mood and we all talked it over and by the end he was laughing and smiling like crazy drinking rum with us & eventually after a bit of persuading he let us buy a takeaway for us all.

As midnight got closer we put the BBC countdown on opened our curtains to watch the fireworks out the window. The advantage of living 11 floors up and looking out towards London is that we can see fireworks for miles on a clear night. My brother & I were really impressed that the fireworks display in London we were watching on the TV we could see out from the window here in Thurrock!!

We saw the new year in together again at last & it honestly made my night spending it with the two guys I love the most, my Mr & my brother.

After spending Christmas eve with my brother too I think he has now realised we mean everything we say, he is always welcome here, if he needs anything or wants to see us he only has to say and we will arrange something, we may have missed a lot of years out but he is and always will be my baby brother and no matter what I will always be there for him & I think he is gradually seeing that.

Seeing in the New Year this way has left me feeling very positive for 2016 knowing my brother will come to us when he needs to & he is slowly getting used to being part of a family again. Family life itself is going much better recently too now that I have signed off and not stressing myself out constantly trying to find a job when I’m struggling to walk to my corner shop. Now I have a pain management consultant things are looking up slightly with regards to my health, someone is listening at last and willing to try and help me instead of fobbing me off with tablets that give off awful side effects.

The blog, thanks to all you lovely readers has got off to a much better start than I had expected & I’m really looking forward to putting a lot more time & effort into the blog. With my last blog I tried to stick to only one or two topics which of course made it much harder to come up with content, this time I’m just doing what I want when I want & it seems to be going much better although admittedly I do need to plan and organize my time better to get where I want to be this time next year. I’ve been chatting to a few lovely bloggers over the last month or so too which has been lovely where I struggle to socialize in person & I’m hoping I can get the courage up to say hi to a few more bloggers too.

2015 wasn’t an overly great or an overly awful year for us but I’m hoping 2016 will be much better & hopefully we can even squeeze in a family holiday somewhere as our only family holiday was almost 5 years ago whilst Eva was still small.

I’m hoping to learn more about knitting & crocheting this year too as I find it so Calming and helpful with my Anxiety and Depression.

How did you celebrate the new year? What are your hopes/goals for 2016? Have a similar post you would like to share with me? Drop me a comment or Get in touch!
